Some 20 suspected militants have attacked a community in Lagos and abducted 13 farmers, causing serious panic across the eastern part of the state.
The militants reportedly stormed a farm settlement along the Igbodu-Isiwo road in the Epe area of the state. They were dressed in military uniforms.

The Eagle Online reports that the abducted included seven farmers and six labourers.
The identities of some of the victims were given as Oluwatoyosi Aboderin, her sister’s six-month-old baby and another female farmer, Ogechi Maku.
The 20 abductors were said to have struck on Wednesday, November 16, after coming through the river and shooting sporadically.

They left with their victims in a speed boat.
Epe has become a major route for kidnappers. On different occasions, there had been attacks on communities in the area sometimes stretching up to Ikorodu area of the state.
In September, for example, a female farmer, a six-month-old baby and Togolese labourer,y identified as Baba Togo, were abducted in a farm around the area.
Some months ago, a contractor executing a government project was reportedly abducted in the area.
This is despite the heavy investment in security by the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, some months into his administration.

The police was yet to confirm the incident at the time of this report.
In September, the police arrested four men on suspicion of kidnapping. They allegedely abducted several residents of Iseri, Lagos state, on September 27, and released their victims after getting a ransom.
