12-year-old boy expelled from Lagos school after trying to poison classmate with 'acid' (photos)

A 12-year-old boy has been expelled from British International School in Lekki area of Lagos state, after he was caught putting acid in a female classmate’s water bottle.

According to reports, the young boy was jealous of a female classmate who was doing better than him. He stole a vial of sulphuric acid and ethanol from the school’s lab.

The unidentified boy mixed the two chemicals together and put them in his female classmate’s water bottle. gathered that the boy was exposed by two male students who saw him commit the act and reported him to the girl before she drank from the bottle.

It was gathered that the boy had planned to put feces in the girl’s juice bottle before he decided to put the chemicals.

After the female students was told about the incident, her mother asked the school to expel the child in case he has plans to hurt others.

The mother of the female student noted that the 12-year-old boy could be have psychological illness that needs treatment.

According to the female student aunt’s, the school has, however, accused the girl’s parents of trying to destroy the boy by asking to expel him. The girl was forced by the school to write an apology letter.

Abimbola Ololade Oligbinde, the Facebook user, who shared the story on her page, expressed that the school has expelled the boy to cover up their mistake after the story went viral.
