Nigerian man celebrated in India for singing in Hindi (photos, video)

A 26-year-old Nigerian student, Samuel Adepoju, has become a huge sensation in India after singing a cover for an Indian song Lollipop Lagelu by Pawan Singh.

Adepoju who is based in India is also known as Samuel Singh.

According to Adepoju, the first time he heard the song during a cultural event when he was in college and he decided to perform the song after a friend from Chile told him to perform the song.

He explained that he does not understand the meaning of the song but he has heard it played a lot of times at marriage ceremonies.

When the celebrated musician was asked if he knew any Hindi words, he stated he understands the basic survival terms.

He said: “Oh, the basic survival lingo: Namaste ji, aap sunder hain, pyas lagi hain, mujhe bhuk lagi hain.”
