Some church members have been reported to have locked their pastor out of the premises over alleged embezzlement of funds, improper behavior and abuse of pulpit.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the angry members of the Ajegunle Baptist Church, Ibadan are insisting that their pastor, Reverend Oyewole Oyekan, vacates the premises.
It was reported that Reverend Oyekan ruined the financial status of the church as about N4 million was traced to his personal account.

Speaking on behalf of the church members, Mr Sangolade Olufemi disclosed that: “Our pastor has turned himself to the treasurer and financial secretary of the church, whereas we employed him. He spends our money single handedly without getting clearance from the financial secretary or church council. He cornered the account of the school for five years. When the school account had problem, he started banking the school’s money in his personal account to the tune of over N4m. Even the church executive does not know the actual amount with him.”

He further revealed that the pastor has been in charge for 15 years but this act of the man of God started about three years ago and when the complaints was lodged at the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
In December 20, 2016, the overall church’s body confirmed the misappropriation of funds but noted that there has been no sign of embezzlement. They also disclosed that the pastor should no longer be in possession of the money but should allow the finance officers do their job.
