3500 police, NSCDC operatives deployed to Nasarawa as Buhari visits

- Three thousand five hundred security personnel have been deployed to Nasarawa state

- The personnel are expected to ensure necessary security arrangement are in place for a hitch-free presidential visit

- Statistics show that the police deployed 2,000 of its officers while the NSCDC committed 1,500 of its personnel to Nasarawa

The Nigeria police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have deployed over 3,500 officers to Nasarawa state ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari's visit.

Daily Trust reports that statistics of the deployment of the two security agencies show that the police released 2,000 of its officers while the NSCDC would complement with 1,500 personnel ahead of the president's one-day working visit to the state.

The Nasarawa state police command spokesperson, Muhammad Abubakar told journalists on Wednesday, March 15, that state commands of Kebbi, Kaduna and Kwara would deploy officers and men to complement those of Niger to ensure a hitch-free visit.

Also speaking on security preparation ahead of the president's visit, the NSCDC's commandant in Nasarawa state, Philip Ayuba said his command has made all necessary security arrangement for a hitch-free presidential visit.

President Buhari is billed to visit Nasarawa state on Wednesday, March 15.

The president is billed to commission the multi-million sugar factory constructed by Nigeria Flour Mill in Sunti, Mokwa local government area today.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the president visited the Government Girls Science and Technology College, Dapchi in Yobe state where 110 girls were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists.

The president during his visit to Yobe met with stakeholders and parents of the abducted schoolgirls.

The presidency had earlier said that as part of his on-spot assessment of the conflict areas, the president will visit various states across the country.

These state include: Nasarawa, Yobe, Borno, Benue, Plateau among others.
