Nigeria to face France on Friday night in Le Mans in tough international friendly game (preview, kick off time)

Super Falcons of Nigeria will on Friday night, April 6, face France in what is expected to be a tough international friendly game that will be played in Le Mans.

Nigeria who are eight-time African Women Cup of Nation (AWCON) champions want to use the friendly as part of their preparations for the AWCON 2018 in Ghana.

France on the other hand will be the hosts for the 2019 Women World Cup, and they have also started their preparations for the championship.

Nigeria will be parading a mix of veterans and upcoming stars, while France who finished in fourth place at the FIFA World Cup finals in Germany seven years ago also boast a number of new prospects.

Super Falcons of Nigeria are in Le Mans without top star Asisat Oshoala, but foreign-based professionals like Desire Oparanozie and Francisca Ordega are available for this high-profile encounter.

Oshoala was left out of the squad of 18 players to face France in the Falcons first game in over 15 months.

There have been reports that Oshoala who is currently playing in the Chinese League got an injury, but the former Arsenal and Liverpool ladies' star denied the claim.

Meanwhile, this will be coach Thomas Dennerby first official game in charge of the Falcons, and the encounter will be played 8 pm Nigerian time.

In January 2018, Swedish professional football coach Thomas Dennerby was appointed as the head coach of the Super Falcons thereby replacing Florence Omagbemi.

Thomas Dennerby coached the Swedish Women’s Senior Team between 2005 and 2012 during which the team played at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and the 2007 and 2011 FIFA World Cup finals winning bronze at the latter tournament.

He also served as youth coach for Stockholm FA and worked in various capacities for former club Hammarby between 1993 and 2001.
