NAIJ.com has come across the photos of a man who became homeless after he became a victim of substance abuse. The photos of the young man were taken by a photographer while he was scavenging for codeine syrup.
A Nigerian photographer identified as Mohammed Chiroma shared photos of a young man who became homeless in Borno state. The photographer revealed that the young man became homeless due to substance abuse.
Chiroma who shared the photos on Facebook also revealed that the homeless man used to be very hardworking before he became a victim of substance abuse.

According to him, he took the man's photos while he was scavenging for codeine syrup in abattoir, Maiduguri.
He wrote: "This young man is at the abattoir in maiduguri. He was a hard working fellow, before becoming a victim of drug abuse, namely, codeine syrup. From making a clean living to a life of scavenging as the result of a drug abuse #FightAgainstDrugAbuse."

The photographer further urged the government to endevour to help young men and women who are addicts by providing rehabilitation. He also urged the government to arrest those selling to addicts.
