- Arsenal ended their 2017-18 Premier League campaign with a slim victory over Huddersfield

- Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal to send Arsene Wenger off on a winning note

- Meanwhile, the Gunners managed to qualify for next season's Europa League after finishing sixth on the log

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s 38th minute striker was all that Arsenal needed to claim maximum points against Huddersfield in their last Premier League fixture this campaign.

Having lost their penultimate match 3-1 to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium during the week, the Gunners stepped their game to give their outgoing manager a memorable parting gift.

Though, they had lost out of Champions League qualification a long time ago, the Emirates Stadium outfit finished sixth on the log – enough to qualify them for the Europa League competition next season.

The north Londoners came close to winning the European title this term but lost by a slim margin to Atletico Madrid in the semifinal stage of the tourney.

However, Arsenal’s victory over their hosts at the John Smith Stadium was their 19th in this campaign, and it also ended Arsene Wenger’s 22-year reign as the head coach of the team.

Meanwhile, for the second time in a row, the Gunners will be missing out of playing in the UEFA Champions League, after finishing outside of the top four positions in the premier League.

Huddersfield managed to avoid relegation in the English topflight as they finished 16th on the log with 37 points – three more than Swansea City and Stoke, who failed to retain their spots in the top tier championship with 33 points.

Apart from Swansea and Stoke, West Bromwich Albion also failed to avoid the drop at the end of this league campaign, finishing 31 points and sitting at the base of the table.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Arsenal were beaten 3-1 by Kelechi Iheanacho's inspired Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday.

Apart from the Nigerian international scoring in that encounter, Algerian star Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy were also on the scores sheet for the Foxes in that fixture.
