Mohamed Salah shines as Liverpool demolished Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield in Premier League last fixture

Champions League finalists Liverpool wrapped up their 2017-18 Premier League season on a high after hammering visiting Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0 at Anfield Stadium.

Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah, who was recently crowned the EA SPORTS Player of the Season opened scoring for the Reds in the 26th minute after benefiting from a Dominik Solanke’s loose pass.

The 25-year-old clinically sent the ball to the right side of the goal post to put his side ahead before the half hour mark.

However, he had been denied a penalty call following a challenge from Brighton defender in the 18-yard box as the referee signaled play on.

Five minutes before halftime, Dejan Lovren doubled the Reds lead through an Andrew Robertson superb great cross.

The visitors were not at their best in the first half of the game as the hosts controlled most part of the game until the referee sounded the whistle to end the half.

Both sides resumed the remaining half of the game with Brighton trying hard to reduce their deficit in the game, but, they were punished for their attacking football as Dominic Solanke scored for his side in the 53rd minute through a counter attacking move by Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The former Chelsea forward got a near perfect ball from Salah, cuts the opponents defense open with a through ball and the rest is history.

Four minutes after their third goal, Roberto Firmino was presented with a one-on-one chance but failed to put the ball behind the goalkeeper in the 57th minute.

Salah once again in the 63rd minute dribbled his way into the opponent’s box but tripped when he had the chance to shoot the ball.

Andrew Robertson wrapped it up for the Anfield side in the 85thh minute as he picked up a loose ball from Benjamin Woodburn blocked pass to make it 4-0 for the Reds.

With this result, Jurgen Klopp’s men have now sealed their Champions League spot as they finished fourth on the table with 75 points – two points behind Tottenham Hotspur, which came from behind to beat Leicester City 5-4 at the Wembley Stadium.

Meanwhile, Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah has set a new Premier League goal record with 32 goals in a league season.

And his tally of the season stands at 44 goals in all competitions, and he could increase it when his side file out against Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev later this month.
