- The former minister was said to have describing two serving ministers as scavengers in the book

A group of diaspora Nigerians based in South Africa has described the former minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as someone who is very angry that she is no longer in power in Nigeria.

The group known as Niger Delta Diaspora Professionals Forum (NDPF) was responding to the comments credited to the former minister describing two former governors of Lagos and Rivers states as scavengers.

The comment is allegedly contained in the recent book on fighting corruption authored by the minister.

According to the group, Okonjo-Iweala cannot exonerate herself from the monumental corruption that took place under her watch during former President Jonathan's administration.

Although the minister had dismissed the story as the handiwork of mischief makers, the group said that her denial is a lazy afterthought.

Leader of the NDPF, Mr. Franklin Olowu, said rather than point accusing fingers on Amaechi and Fashola, the former minister should devise another means to launder her image without villifying innocent people.

It has been alleged that Mrs. Iweala made reference to the governor's demand as the reason why the Federal Government could not save under President Jonathan.

The group cautioned the former minister to desist from causing further distraction, adding that she is suffering from a withdrawal syndrome.
