Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state has disclosed that since he assumed office, he has not received any salary.
The governor made the claim in a post on his Twitter handle, @raufaregbesola, on Saturday, May 12.
NAIJ.com notes that the governor was responding to an observation by a Twitter user, S.O. Abdulrahman, @Ohimine1, who expressed disbelief at a statement Aregbesola had previously made on a television show.

Abdulrahman asked if he had heard correctly, and asked for assistance.
As he tweeted:
In response, the governor tweeted back, explaining that there was no justification for receiving salary, as he currently enjoys free accommodation, transportation and healthcare as the state’s chief executive officer.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Governor Rauf Aregbesola said he was not owing civil servants salaries.
Aregbesola said this in Osogbo, at a symposium organized by the Osun command of the Police Community Relations Committee.
The governor said in spite of the economic challenges confronting the nation and the state in particular, his administration had not failed in paying workers regularly.
