NAIJ.com gathers that the inauguration of the Lagos state executive was put on hold upon “unresolved constitutional issues” following the conduct of the congresses in the state’s 57 local government areas.
In another major setback for another prominent national figure in the party, the Rivers state chapter of the party backed by Rotimi Amaechi, will also not be inaugurated.
The party’s national spokesman, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, also reportedly disclosed that the Taraba and Bayelsa executives will also not be inaugurated.
He said the Lagos state chapter executive inauguration would be put on hold until there is a resolution of the legitimacy of the 57 local council development areas or the 20 local councils as recognised by the constitution.
Balogun was elected as APC state chairman for Lagos at a congress supervised by Senator Uche Ekwunife, an emissary of the party’s national secretariat, and also attended by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
However, on that same day, a rival state congress held at Airport Hotel, which led to the emergence of Fouad Oki as chairman.
In Rivers, the Ojukaye Flag-Amachree led executive would reportedly not be inaugurated due to legal issues.
The Cyril Ogodo faction that emerged from the disputed congresses in Delta state will however be inaugurated.
