Former Super Eagles captain Kanu Nwankwo was in action for the FIFA legends who defeated Russia legends 6-4 in an entertaining match played on Sunday, June 3, in Kaliningrad.
The match was to celebrate the final countdown to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia which will start in the next 10 days.
FIFA Legends line-up comprised goalkeeper Pascal Zuberbuehler (Switzerland), defenders Wes Brown (England) Cafu (Brazil), midfielders Niko Kranjcar (Croatia) Nwankwo Kanu (Nigeria), and Nuno Gomes (Portugal) up front.
While the Russia legend comprised of Ruslan Nigmatullin, Dmitri Sennikov, Dmitri Khlestov, Aleksandr Mostovoi, Andrei Tikhonov and Aleksandr Panov.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are in Group D at the 2018 FIFA World Cup where they will face Iceland, Croatia and Argentina in which Kanu Nwankwo is expected to watch all their games.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu had £8,250 in cash stolen from his suitcase in Moscow airport after he arrived from London.
Russian police confirmed the crime was committed by two loaders at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.
The 41-year-old reported the money missing when he reached Kaliningrad where he played in a World Cup curtain raiser game organised by FIFA.
