Mikel Obi retains number 10 jersey as Super Eagles players get World Cup squad numbers

- Super Eagles have taken to social media to announce their World Cup squad numbers

- Gernot Rohr's men are in Group D where they will face Iceland, Croatia and Argentina

- Captain of the team John Obi Mikel retains his number 10 jersey in the squad

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have announced the jersey numbers all the players that will play for Nigeria at the Russia 2018 World Cup will wear.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr had earlier made known his final 23-man list for the the World Cup in which John Obi Mikel is expected to lead the Nigerian team to Russia.

The former Chelsea star however retains his number 10 jersey, while Leicester City attacker Kelechi Iheanacho will wear jersey number 14.

Super Eagles made the jersey numbers available on their twitter account on Monday, June 4.

Meanwhile, after losing their last pre World Cup friendly against England, Super Eagles are currently in Austria where they will face Czech Republic on Wednesday, June 6.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how the England national team defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria by 2-1 in a pre-World Cup friendly match played at Wembley Stadium.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill opened the scoring with a header early in the match as the Three Lions produced a dominant first half display.

Captain Harry Kane scored the second after his shot slipped through Francis Uzoho's armpit as England doubled the advantage.
