In South Carolina, a man identified as Scott Pickle from Atlanta, USA, was reported to have killed his 30-year-old brother Brian Pickle while hunting, as he mistook him for an animal on Saturday, November 26.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Brian and his brother Scott live with their father in a heavily wooded area. The Union County Sheriff, David Taylor told the newspaper that the incident happened shortly before dusk on Saturday, adding that Scott Pickle had been eager to hunt before nightfall.

They disclose that, Scott mistook his brother for a small deer, as he aimed and fired his target by striking Brian in the head. The sheriff added that: "We see these types of accidents all too frequently.”
The Union County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources are investigating the incident as it was not immediately clear if Pickle will face criminal charges.
