- The video of a little engineer girl has gone viral
- It shows her demonstrating how a robot of her own design works
- This wizard attends weekly lessons in technology, science, engineering, art and math
A video of a 7-year old mini engineer has been breaking internet, showing the robot this little wizard designed herself. The footage was posted on the Because of Them We Can Facebook page, on Wednesday, February 8.
Noelle Scales demonstrated how the robot works, explaining all the mechanics behind its spinning and movements. She looks darn cute!
Noelle’s father, Roosevelt Scales, said his daughter made the robot for California’s Da Vinci Innovation Academy, the school she attends, which mixes on site and at home education.
He comments that twice a week she goes to the center to participate in project-based learning. He said: “She participates in project-based learning that ranges in topics from physics to fashion, while her home school curriculum is culturally relevant and uses the Black365 calendar to introduce historical figures and events.”
She also goes to a class at an art studio once a week, which integrates technology, science, engineering, art and math, in a method called STEAM, for these disciplines’ initials.

Noelle's father said the she is always creating and drawing. He said:“She’ll make books, games, clothes ― she is very intrigued by new things and finding out the hows and whys.”
Noelle’s video has gotten almost 80,000 views in less than two weeks. “#FACT: Black talent is real.” the page wrote in the caption. It has also been shared on many other social media outlets.
