A Nigerian man, Carl Maobi, who does not believe any God exists has allegedly been kidnapped and dragged to a psychiatric hospital in Imo state.
NAIJ.com gathered this from the Atheist Society of Nigeria page on Facebook.
Mr Maobi who is said to be a trader at Onitsha was allegedly bundled into a car and driven to the hospital without his prior knowledge or consent.

However, there are new reports that Mr Maobi has been released after he was tested and he was found to be mentally okay.

Reports were that the doctor recommended he starts taking some medications and injections, which he blatantly refused on the grounds he is sane. He was later released.
Although no one knows where this is coming from, this is about the second time something like this would be happening in Nigeria. Some years ago, a Nigerian man from Kano, Mubrack Bala faced similar scenario in which he was alleged to be mad simply for declaring himself an atheist.
