It’s not every day a popular pastor shares his grass to grace story and when NAIJ.com got the chance to speak to Matthew Ashimolowo, the founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), we obliged.
The 65-year-old man of God revealed that he built his first house at the age of 27. He also explained that he has a brain for business as a result of his experience as a hawker.
See excerpts of from his interview below:
“When I entered ministry, the fathers I met in the ministry always insisted that we had to be full time pastors. We thought that if you were not a full time Pastor, you were not serving God well. I later discovered that God gave me a brain of business.
I would always go on holiday in London and use my estacode to buy musical instruments which I would sell at Ebenezer Obey’s music shop in Nigeria.

That is how I bought my first house, built my first house at the age of 27 as a young pastor. It is because from the age of 14 I have always sold hawked bread and other items. It began to occur to me that I must not apologise for who I was.”
