A mother has shared the creative style she came up with to teach her 5-year-old daughter responsibility and prepare her for the real world. The woman identified as Essence Evans explained that she charges her daughter $5 (N1,799) every week.
The mother of the 5-year-old girl noted that she told her daughter that the $5 is her responsibility for the utilities she enjoys. Evans who gives her daughter $7 allowance per week said her daughter pays her $1 each for rent, water, electricity, cable and food.
She noted that she explained to her 5-year-old that in the real world most people spend most of their income on bills with little money left to spend on themselves.

The woman also revealed that her daughter doesn’t know that she saves the five dollars for her every week, adding that her daughter would be free to use the money when she turns 18.
Evans wrote: “I MAKE MY 5 YEAR OLD PAY RENT. Every week she gets $7 dollars in allowance. But I explained to her that in the real world most people spend most of their paycheck on bills with little to spend on themselves. So I make her give me $5 dollars back. $1 for rent $1 for water $1 for electricity $1 for cable and $1 for food. The other $2 she gets to save or do what she wants with. Now, what she doesn't know is the $5 is actually going away in her savings account which I will give back to her when she turns 18. So if she decides to move out on her own she will have $3,380 to start off. This strategy not only prepares your child for the real world. But when they see how much real bills are they will appreciate you for giving them a huge discount ��

The young mother has received lots of praises from mothers who were impressed by how well she is teaching her daughter. However, some mothers were not happy with the method. They stated that it was her job to raise her child without putting pressure on her.
