There has been controversy surrounding the practice of giving pastors a financial donation at the beginning of every year popularly called ‘first fruit.’
Top OAP Daddy Freeze has condemned the action saying the act is not biblical. But many pastors have defended the act. For clarity, first fruit is usually your first salary of the year.
While many Nigerians partake in the act, a lot of people have begun to speak up condemning the act. As a result of this, NAIJ.com ran a poll on Twitter asking the opinions of people.

Out of 646 votes, 22% voted yes, they don’t see anything wrong in paying first fruit. While 66% said they cannot gift their January salary to their pastors. 12% remained inconclusive.
