Check out this 25-year-old secondary school graduate who is a skilled painter in Ghana

The average Ghanaian school graduate has the mentality of waiting for jobs from the government or the private sector. In fact many, of them dream of white collar jobs which are non-existent..

It is therefore always refreshing to find a young person trying to do something for themselves even under very difficult circumstances.

A young man identified as Odjeawo Godfred Tettey Kwao, is a self-taught stylish painter who is taking interior designing to a whole new level in Ghana.

Tulip, as he is widely known in his Madina vicinity he is a 25-year-old Senior High School (SHS) graduate.

After graduating from Begoro Presby SHS in 2013, he had wanted to pursue a higher education but stayed back due to lack of funds.

In order to make his dream come true, Tulip decided to create his own job opportunity and he settled for painting. Having studied Visual Arts, it would be easy to conclude that that he would find it easy with his new career.

But the young man says it was not that simple for him, as he had decided to focus on interior designing. According to him, with the modern trends of painting, he had to rely on YouTube videos to learn his craft.

"Yes, I offered Visual Arts in school but what I'm doing now is more of my skills and some guidelines from YouTube," he told said.

When asked if he still had the ambition of going back to school, Tulip answer was very affirmative. He added that, he has appealed for more jobs (contracts) which will enable him save enough money for school

Though business was not bad, like Oliver Twist, Tulip is asking for more and we think he deserves it.
