Court orders continued detention of Dane who allegedly killed rising Nigerian singer, Zainab Alizee, daughter

- A magistrate's court in Yaba, on Tuesday, May 8, adjourned the trial of the Danish husband of a rising singer, Zainab Alizee

- The deceased's husband, Peter Nielsen, allegedly killed his wife and daughter in the Banana Island home on Thursday, April 5

- Nielsen's trial will begin at a high court on June 28, 2018

The trial of a Dane, Peter Nielsen, who was accused of killing his singer wife, Zainab, and their daughter, has been adjourned by a magistrate court in Yaba area of Lagos.

The court ordered the continued detention of the 53-year-old suspect till June 28 when his trial at a high court for the case would begin, Premium Times reports.

NAIJ.com notes that the court was besieged on Tuesday, May 8 by many rights activists under the auspices of Women Arise NGO led by Joe Okei Odumakin, demanding for justice.

During the press conference held after the court hearing on Tuesday, the deceased father, Chris Madaki, alleged that preferential treatment was given his daughter’s alleged killer.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that a prosecutor and chief superintendent of police, Effiong Asuquo, on Wednesday, April 11, told a Yaba Chief magistrate's court, Lagos, what led to the death of rising Nigerian singer, Zainab Alizee, and her daughter.

He said that the accused, Peter Nielsen, hit his wife’s head on the wall several times, leading to her death and then proceeded to poison his daughter.

He added: “He had dragged their lifeless bodies under the gas to create the impression that they suffocated to death as a result of a gas leakage."
