As the Igbo nation concluded plan to convene a summit to brainstorm on some challenges facing Ndigbo in Nigeria, those expected at the summit are deputy Senate president, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and his Enugu state counterpart, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Other dignitaries that expected to attend the summit in Enugu include Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi and his Imo state counterpart, Rochas Okorocha, Vanguard reports.
NAIJ.com notes that the summit is organized by the Association of South East Town Unions (ASETU).

According to the national president of the association, Chief Emeka Diwe, the summit, which is expected to attract other top-notch Igbo sons and daughters in all sectors as well as the town union leaderships in all the communities in the southeast zone, will brainstorm and highlight the roles of the town unions in addressing the tripartite economic, security and leadership challenges that the Igbo nation is currently facing.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that southeast and south south governors recently met to discuss the need for the federal government to increase revenue allocation to states in the zones.
The governors urged the federal government to increase the allocation to reflect the current prices of crude oil in the international market.
The demand was contained in a communique released by the governors after the meeting which was held over the weekend in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state.
