Barely 24 hours after herdsmen attacked Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Jalingo, a couple was killed by unknown gunmen at their residence in Wukari local government area of Taraba state.
The criminals who struck on Tuesday, May 29, however, spared the couple's two-year-old baby.
Vanguard reports that while confirming the attack to newsmen in a telephone interview, Hon. Daniel Adi, chairman of Wukari local government disclosed that the incident occurred around 12:45am.

“We don’t know the reason for the attack, but the gunmen killed the man and his wife without carrying a single thing from their house.
“We are still investigating the situation, we don’t know whether they are armed robbers, assassins or it’s another form of terrorism in disguise. But investigations will reveal their identity,” he said.
A resident of Wukari, Mr Angyu Sabo described the incident as unfortunate which has thrown the entire town of Wukari into deep shock and fear.
Sabo also called for reinforcement of security personnel to help curb crime in the area.
Police public relations officer, Taraba state Command ASP David Misal, when contacted said the police was aware of the incident and explained that investigation is ongoing to uncover those behind the latest attack for possible arrest.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that there was pandemonium as two Catholic priests were reportedly beaten one shot in the leg by some gunmen suspected to be herdsmen.
Some students were also injured and while many cars were as well destroyed in the attack.
