We are grateful to God for the success rate of three years, Osinbajo says

- Yemi Osinbajo is happy about the successes the Buhari administration has made in the last three years

- According to him, it is extraordinary grace that brought them thus far

- He said the Buhari-led government has very good reasons to be grateful to God

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says the Buhari administration has made progress in the last three years despite some challenges.

The vice president made the remarks at a dinner/gala night to celebrate the 2018 Democracy Day held at the State House Banquet hall on Tuesday, May 29.

Professor Osinbajo said for officials of the administration, the occasion is an opportunity to thank God “for the extraordinary grace that brought us here.”

He said: “I for one can say that five years ago if someone had told me that I would be Vice President at all, let alone celebrating three years in office, I would have doubted that they were thinking right, but here we are.

“We have very good reasons to be grateful to God for the wonderful ways that he has worked with our government and ensured that in the past three years, we recorded such rate of success.

“I was reminding someone two months ago that we are not even three years yet and we are being compared to some of our friends who have been in office for 16 years. It shows that we must be doing very well.

“I really want to thank every one of you for making the time to come celebrate with us today, especially those who had to travel from out of Abuja to share this time with us, I want to just thank you and to wish you a happy democracy day."

Meanwhile, presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (KTT), has charged Nigerians to stand up and ensure that democracy is not endangered as a result of the action or inaction of any person or group of persons that have come to reap where they have not sowed.

KTT, in a statement sent to NAIJ.com, expressed hope that Nigeria can and, indeed, will be great again “with an honest, selfless, listening, committed and focused leadership that will treat us fairly and equally, irrespective of our beliefs, creed, and/or the circumstances of our birth.”
