Alhaji Sa’idu Miga, the lawmaker representing Jahun and Miga federal constituency in the House of Representatives escaped after angry youths launched attack against for reportedly failing to benefit them since his election.
Daily Independent reports that the protest occurred during the commissioning of 6.5 kilometre Jahun township road by Governor Abdul Aziz Yari, Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, in Jahun local government headquarters in Jigawa State.

It was reported that the aggrieved youth chanted ‘bama yi, bama yi’, meaning, ‘we are not with you, we are not with you’, and the advanced towards the lawmaker.
Their action led to the disruption of the event at the time the governor was talking.
Security men were able to intercede and whisk the lawmaker away before he was mobbed.
The youths insisted that the lawmaker had not contributed anything since he was elected by the people.

Meanwhile, some prominent members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Jigawa state chapter, on Thursday, May 17, announced that they had quit the ruling party for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The decampees include the longest-serving federal lawmaker, Hon Bashir Adamu; former Jigawa speaker, Hon Abdu Dauda; members of the state and national assemblies; and some local government chairmen.
NAIJ.com gathers that Hon Abba Anas Adamu who emerged as the party chairman in the state, while speaking on behalf of the decampees, stated that their decision was a way of protesting against the way the party’s wards and local government congresses in the state were conducted. He said they were full of irregularities.
