Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the barbaric lynching of a seven-year-old boy in allegedly in Lagos state.
The boy, whose age now remains controversial, was allegedly lynched and burnt by irate residents for reportedly attempting to steal garri.

A video and photographs of the boy being lynched had provoked mass anger and reactions from Nigerians recently.
Some citizens had criticised President Muhammadu Buhari arguing that the boy decided to steal food because of the serious hunger in the country.

Atiku, who just clocked 70, took to his Twitter handle to indict the country’s justice system.
He said he was saddened by the incident and insisted that the country’s justice system must be such that the people would have confidence in it.
I’m saddened by the stories of lynching from different parts of Nigeria. Irrespective of age or alleged crime, we have to be more tolerant.
