A heartless man identified as a 36-year-old Sakdin Duangphakhon killed his father by driving a kitchen knife into him because he forgot to add fish sauce to his favorite pork soup.
Sakdin was said to have bought the meat for lunch and got very angry when it took his father, ngor, a long time to boil it in their home in Buriram, South Thailand.
The young man’s anger aggravated after his father told him he forgot to add fish sauce, an important ingredient in Thai foods.

Sakdin was said to have grabbed a bottle with which he hit his father on the head. Pa, his 66-year-old mother tried coming in and he slapped her too. She ran out to call for help while the irate son picked a kitchen knife and stabbed his father repeatedly.

By the time the police came in, they found a calm looking Sarkdin laying in a hammock in front of their home. The officers took him to his father’s corpse and made him kneel down to apologise to the dead man. He was handcuffed and led away.
Nitipat Kitichartchai, the deputy inspector spoke on the incident.
'The father volunteered to cook the pork. The son went to drink a some liquor and then wanted to eat the food. But the dad said it was not finished and not cooked yet.
'The son did not want to wait. Then he said he forgot the fish sauce and he became angry.'
Sarkdin has two brothers; he was sent to Amphore Nangrong prison in Buriram after he confessed to the crime.

'It was reported to us that the son had used a knife to stab the father at the home.
'I knew we would have to go to investigate the scene. It is a single storey house. The father was wearing a loin cloth without a shirt.
'He had more than 10 stab wounds on his back, particularly across the left shoulder, and one the deeply penetrated the heart. The smell of blood stained the area.
'I asked the wife how her husband died and she identified her son as the killer. He was found outside the house in a cradle (hammock) with a lot of blood on him but he was not injured.
'He was detained while we investigated the home.'
