On June 19, 2013, a 400 level student of Obafemi Awolowo University was accused of attempting to flush her newborn baby down the toilet at Moremi hostel.
However, it was later discovered that the student identified as, Oyinola Rotimi, had not realized that she was going into labour.
According to a statement given by Rotimi, she thought she had a stomach upset and went to the toilet to purge but went into labour instead.

Rotimi who was in shock could not remove her baby from the toilet until a cleaner came to help her and her baby boy survived with minor injuries.
On Monday, June 19, 2017, the little boy who made the news minutes after he was born has clocked four and is said to be in good health.
