A 4-year-old boy, who was reportedly kidnapped during a church service in January, finally reunites with his parents.
Punch reports that Chima Obiduru was kidnapped on January 5, at Okpoko in Onitsha, finally met his parents once again on Thursday, July 6, by the Imo state police after 6 months.
While handing the little boy over to his parents the Imo state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Andrew Enwerem disclosed that Obiduru was rescued on April 17, by officers of the Ogbaku police division.

Speaking through the states police spokesperson, Enwerem said: “On January 5, 2017, four years old Chima Obiduru was stolen in Okpoko, Onitsha, Anambra state. The parents, Mr and Mrs Victor Duru who hail from Ameri in Oru East LGA of Imo state reported it at Okpoko police station. Following the measures put in place by the Imo state police command to stem the ugly tide of child trafficking, the operatives of Ogbaku division in Mbaitoli recovered the missing child on April 17 and transferred him to the State Criminal and Investigations Department, Owerri. After investigation proved that Mr and Mrs Victor Duru are the legitimate parents of this Innocent child, the Imo State police command under the proactive leadership of the commissioner of police, Chris Ezike, today, July 6, reunites him with his legitimate parents.”

The mother of the little boy, Ngozika Duru also revealed that two other children were kidnapped from the church on that same day her son was stolen. She added disclosing that her son being kidnapped has brought sorrow unto their household.
