The issue of tithing in Nigeria has been a long debated topic in Nigeria. While many Christians in the society continue to preach against non- tithing, there has been a growing number of criticisms over this as many people believe it is not a prerequisite for gaining entrance into heaven.
Just recently, a video surfaced on the internet that showed a Nigerian pastor preaching on the issue of tithing. According to him, it is a necessary and part of serving God to give offering and tithe. He went on to compare Aliko Dangote and a Christian millionaire. He stated that the difference between the two is, only one will make heaven.
Media personality and president of the #FreeTheSheeple movement, Daddy Freeze, took to the social media platform to react to the pastor's comment. According to him, the pastor was being ludicrous with his teaching and went on to state that giving tithe and offering is not tied to anybody's salvation.
