It is extremely rare for someone to return gifts given to you especially a gift as valuable as a car but there are people who would return or reject gifts for specific reasons. Some gifts are returned because the person feels uncomfortable or if the gift goes against what you believe in or maybe if you’re not a fan of the gift.
That being said, Nigerians were still shocked to discover that a Port Harcourt-based model rejected a car gift that was given to her on her birthday. The lady identified as Favour Phillip rejected the gift, stating that she doesn’t believe in hurting fellow women.
The lady who is also a beauty therapist and an entrepreneur has shared the details of why she rejected the car gift in an interview with Sunday Scoop. She explained that the gift was given to her by a married man.

According to her, she rejected it because she doesn’t want to hurt another woman. She explained that she knows she would be married one day and she would not be happy if she finds out her husband is giving young ladies gifts.
She also noted that nothing was going on between her and the man, adding that he had been trying to get involved with her for a while.
Phillip said: “There was nothing between me and the man in question but he was doing everything possible to get me into having an amorous relationship with him. I am an independent woman and I don’t need any man to enjoy the good things of life. I bought my first car from the business I set up as a student. Every lady out there has huge potential; they don’t need to rely on any man.”

The independent woman also talked about empowering young girls. She said: “I am passionate about empowering other young girls by giving them the opportunity to learn from me. I also support them financially to set up businesses for themselves. I have plans to start a television show to empower and encourage young ladies as time goes on.”
