A prominent man of God has reignited debate on polygamy after claiming that the Bible doesn't forbid men from marrying many wives as taught by most Christian leaders.
Pastor Vincent Mboya Mulwa , who has reportedly been preaching for close to 40 years, has urged Church leaders to allow men to marry as many wives as they can manage.

According to the Christ Pilgrim Restoration Centre (CPRC) reverend, the holy book (Bible) does not teach against polygamy as commonly believed by Christians worldwide.
The man of God argued that even the prominent biblical men were mostly polygamous and some even had "mpango wa kando" but and God did not punish them for it.
“The Bible people had many wives. Every woman had a husband. Widows were allowed to become concubines,” Mulwa said as quoted by Daily Nation.

The reverend, famed for his book titled, "Christianity at a Crossroads: Between a Rock and a Hard Place", further pointed out that the teachings on monogamy were introduced in Africa by the Europe missionaries. But this, he claimed, is not what the Bible teaches.
“We must teach the true gospel. Let our Christian men marry as many wives as they wish. It's not about men 's desire to marry men women, but rather women's desire to have husbands,” he said.
Mulwa, who is also a family counselor and psychologist, recommended that Christian leaders should go back to the drawing board, research their souls, have a candid talk with God and review their teachings on monogamy marriage.
