Senator Isah Hamma Misau, representing Bauchi central district in the National Assembly in a meeting with some senators condemned the poor state of things in Nigeria.
Senator Misau said that politicians should be more worried about the legacy they are leaving behind for the coming generation, and not only clamouring for victory in 2019 elections. He wondered if politicians are sure they will see 2019, Vanguard reports.

He said: "We are clamouring for 2019, are sure we will be alive in 2019. Today, as a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, you get frustrated about everything, talk less of somebody that has no job and no voice in the country. As a senator in Nigeria, you can see things going wrong."
He condemned the way the police handled the Dino Melaye security threat claim. The senator said that till now no security agency has come out to investigate the senator's claim, instead Melaye was dragged to court unnecessarily. Misau said that this is not the standard in the developed world.

Misau stated that tribalism and religion have both ruined Nigeria. He said that religion is a personal thing and should not be a tool for destruction in the country, adding that most Nigerians profess religion without practicing it. He advised Nigerians to embrace unity and equality in all our dealings nationally.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that the Senate president Bukola Saraki, ordered the Senate committee on police affairs to summon the inspector-general of police, Ibrahim Idris, and make sure that he provided security for Kwankwaso to be able to visit his constituency.
The issue was raised at plenary when Misau raised a point of order on the spate of insecurity in Kano due to the political crisis in the state.
