Over the years, the issue of child marriage has been a topic of debate and many have kicked against it, as they view the union as a form of child abuse.
Just recently in India, a 60-year-old man reportedly got married to a 15-year-old girl. The wedding which took place in India had the attendance of the some members of the bride’s family.
The pictures of the wedding have gone viral on social media as a Twitter user claimed that the young Muslim girl was sold off to the Nigerian man.

Identified as @RepublicofIndia on Twitter, they said that: “That's d women's freedom in Peaceful community. This young girl is married off/sold out to a Nigerian. Scene from Karnataka coastal family. God save her.”

Also Natasha (@natashachauhan) on Twitter disclosed that: “Africans look much younger than their actual age. The melanin in their skins prevents sun damage. This guy is 60 and she's just 15 by the looks of it. What a tragedy. Let's hope he has more wives to keep him entertained so he'll leave this poor child alone.”
