Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder is excited to have scored the two goals that propelled his side to the quarterfinals stage of the 2018 UEFA Champions League encounter at Old Trafford on Tuesday, March 13.

Having played a goalless draw at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium almost a month back, the same result repeated itself in the first half of the encounter yesterday.

However, coach Vincenzo Montella introduced the 27-year-old in the 72nd minute of their second leg encounter, and barely two minutes after coming in, he gave his side the lead.

Four minutes later, the Frenchman doubled the lead for the Spanish League campaigners in the 78th minute to give his side.

Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku’s 78th minute goal was not enough to help the Premier League encounter go through to the next round of the championship.

The 27-year-old said after the game that his brace against the Red Devils is his ‘childhood dream’, adding that it was a good atmosphere for them.

I'm happy, very, very happy. It's a beautiful evening, Ben Yedder told beIN SPORTS.

“We know it's not easy against Manchester United, especially at Old Trafford. I do not know how to describe my emotion.

“It's a child's dream to win against big players, big teams like Manchester United. There is a lot of emotion.

He continued: “We will try to savour it all together. We enter this history of the club; this is the first time we go to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. This is exceptional.

“It's complicated, but it’s part of life - play, be a substitute, wait for your time. Sometimes patience pays, that's what I always thought,' he added.

“Everyone said there were problems between me and the coach, there is no problem. He made me go home, he trusted me, and I gave him back as I could.

“I always closed my mouth and worked. The coach was happy, I was happy. It's all that matters.”

Following the 2-1 victory over United on Tuesday, Sevilla join the likes Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus that have already made it through to the quarter-finals stage.

Bayern Munich take a 5-0 first leg lead to Besiktas, while Barcelona host Chelsea with the scores tied at 1-1 on Wednesday, March 14.
