Arsenal set to battle fellow Premier League club for the signature of Napoli superstar this summer

- The Gunners have are planning to make a move for Kalidou Koulibaly this summer

- He is also wanted by Chelsea after their first attempt to sign him in 2016 failed

- The north London club are also shopping for a new manager after it has been confirmed that Arsene Wenger will leave the club this month

Arsenal have reportedly shown interest in signing Napoli center-back Kalidou Koulibaly to bolster their defence at the end of this season according to Daily Star.

The Gunners lost Laurent Koscielny to injury in their 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the semifinal of this year’s Europa League clash at the Wanda Metropolitano earlier this month.

And the Frenchman has been ruled out of this year’s World Cup and might not be back for the north Londoners when the season starts in August.

According to Daily Star quoting Express Sport, Arsenal chiefs believe the Senegal international is the right man to shore up the defence.

The former Genk star was one of Antonio Conte’s major targets when he arrived the Stamford Bridge in 2016, but the deal failed after his Italian club asked too much money, and the Gunners are now ready to pay the price tag on the defender.

Arsene Wenger’s men have conceded 51 Premier League goals this season as they toiled to secure a Europa League place.

Meanwhile, Koulibaly's agent has reportedly been meeting with Juventus, and he says: “It’s too early to talk about the future,” Satin said earlier this week.

The lad will play until the end of the season to try and get as many points as possible.

“Clearly this is a World Cup year, so it’s a particular year and we’ll have to see how the [Maurizio] Sarri issue will end, that could definitely have an impact. Kalidou at Juve? He’s at a level where he could play anywhere.

Also this summer, the Emirates Stadium outfit will the end of an era as Arsene Wenger will be calling his 22-year reign at the club quit.

However, former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, Massimiliano Allegri and Mikel Arteta are the top runners to replace the Frenchman at the club.

Earlier, NAIJ.com reported that Chelsea are preparing a £65 million bid to sign Napoli and Senegalese football star Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.

The 26-year-old defender has been impressive this season for his club in Italy and his performances have caught the attention of many clubs.

On Sunday, April 22, he scored the winner against Juventus to blow the Serie A title race wide open.
