The 26-year-old is wanted by Real Madrid, who are planning to offer close to £230 million to get him signed for the Los Blancos this summer.

However, with this new development, the Galacticos will have to invest their money on other players, as the superstar is set to endure another season in the French League next term.

Neymar moved to PSG last summer from Barcelona for a world record £198m last summer, and after scoring 26 goals in 29 appearances in his debut season, he was sidelined by foot injury since late February.

The Brazilian, while posing with PSG’s next season’s kit said: "Proud to wear the new jersey and to continue giving you joy," Neymar wrote on social media.

He has not featured for the Parisians after breaking his foot during February's victory over Marseille - but returned to watch their French Cup triumph during the week.

Meanwhile, he is expected to return early enough to make Brazil squad going to the World Cup as they battle Switzerland on June 17 in their opening group game in Russia.

According to Mirror quoting Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Neymar has told club and international teammates Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Thiago Motta and Dani Alves that he plans to leave PSG if he wins the World Cup with Brazil in Russia.

The former Barcelona star joined PSG barely a year ago and he has already won three titles in his debut season at the club.

While in Spain, the 26-year-old won one Champions League, two La Ligas and three Copa Del Rey titles among other trophies.

He started his career at Santos in Brazil before moving to Barca in the summer of 2013 where he spent four seasons.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Neymar was ready to leave PSG and join Real Madrid at the end of this season.

The winger is said to be unhappy at the French club owing to the low level of competition in the league following their early ouster in the Champions League.

He is also said to have confessed that he misses his former teammates, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at the Camp Nou.
