Ohanaeze lays curse on those who bombed Nwodo's residence

- A curse has been placed on those who tried to bomb the house of the leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo

- The national publicity secretary of the group said the perpetrators of the act will not go unpunished

- Uche Achi-Okpaga also blamed the federal government for its inability address security issues across the country

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has placed a curse of those who attack the residence of its president general, John Nnia-Nwodo.

The socio-cultural Igbo group describing the attack as irresponsible said the perpetrators will soon be caught and made to face the law.

Reacting to the attack in a statement, the national publicity secretary of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Uche Achi-Okpaga, said the attackers must not go unpunished.

Achi-Okpaga said: "No sinner ever goes unpunished."

He further blamed the federal government for its inability address security issues across the country.

“It smells to high heavens that security and freedom in Nigeria have fled to oblivion. The whole of Nigeria has become a theatre of war and terrorism.

This brings to bare why we insist on restructuring. The military, police, civil defence and others alike are agencies of the federal government. So that is why we blame the federal government for the alarming insecurity all over Nigeria," Achi-Okpaga said.

Also, cursing the perpetrators, the Enugu state chairman of the group, Alex Ogbonna, said the attackers are wasting their time.

Ogbonna during a courtesy visit to Nwodo said said: "Chief Nwodo as the conscience of Igbo nation because he represents Ndigbo for truth and equity.”

“Whoever is trying to repress Chief Nwodo is wasting his time because the ideological foundation of what he advocated and is fighting for is anchored on truth. God brought Chief Nwodo at this point in time to save Ndigbo from the quagmire they have found themselves, and anybody fighting him is fighting the whole of Ndigbo," Ogbonna noted.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that house of the leader of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo was on Sunday, April 29, bombed by some unknown hoodlums.
