Rampant Real Madrid demolished Celta Vigo at the Bernabeu, sends strong message to Liverpool ahead of UCL final

- The Welshman was impressive for the Galacticos in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo in the game

Real Madrid were on fire as they thrashed visiting Celta Vigo 6-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, May 12.

Despite not featuring their talisman, the Galacticos put up a seven star performance in their penultimate league encounter to ensure they maintain their third position on the log.

Gareth Bale fired Los Blancos ahead in the 13th minute after converting a pass from Croatia midfielder, Luka Modric.

17 minutes later, the Welshman doubled his side's lead in the 30th minute with Isco assisting the second goal while Bale completed his brace for the fixture.

Just two minutes later, Isco got his name on the scores sheet after benefiting from a Toni Kroos' assist in the 32nd minute to increase the Galacticos lead to 3-0 before half time.

Achraf Hakimi scored his second goal of the season as he got Real's 4th goal in the meeting, while an own goal from Sergi Gomez took the scoreline to 5 - 0 in favour of the Champions League finalists.

With less than nine minutes to the end of the normal regulation time, Germany international, Toni Kroos competed six goal rout to put Los Blancos three points behind city rivals, Atletico with one game to wrap this season up.

Though, they have already conceded the Spanish League title to their arch rivals, Barcelona, they are on track to cap their season with silverware as they host Liverpool in Kiev for the Champions League final.

Meanwhile, this defeat means Celta Vigo have lost 10 topflight matches in Spain, though, they are safe from relegation as they are 13th on the log with 46 points 37 league games.

Madrid battle Villarreal in their last game of the season and they will hope they can finish on the log ahead of Diego Simeone's men, while Celta Vigo face Levante.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the Galacticos were beaten 3-2 by Sevilla in their last Spanish League encounter few days back.

The Bernabeu outfit lost the chance to level on point with their city rivals after losing that game away from home.

They however bounced back in an impressive display to send a strong message to Liverpool ahead of their Champions League fixture later this month.
