Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been handed two match touchline ban by UEFA following his outrage against match official in his Champions League defeat to fellow Premier League side Liverpool in April.

The English League champions crashed out of the competition at the quarterfinal stage after losing 5-1 on aggregate to the Reds at the last eight stage.

Guardiola’s men, had been in terrific a in all competitions before their two legged affair against the Anfield side, but were unable to handle their EPL rivals.

Gabriel Jesus’ early goal in the first half of their second leg clash at the Etihad Stadium gave them hope they could overturn the 3-0 deficit recorded in the first leg at Anfield a week before.

However, angry Pep lashed out at the Antonio Mateu from Spain over some of his decisions during the first half of the game.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich tactician eventually watched the second half of the game from the stands as Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah goals inspired the visitors to victory.

UEFA have now found Man City’s boss guilty of his actions and will miss his side’s first two games in Europe next season.

NAIJ.com previously reported that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was crowned the Premier League and LMA Manager of the Year.

The Spaniard saw his side set a new Premier League points record of 100, scoring 106 goals along the way.

Guardiola won the Premier League's official award before collecting his accolade at the LMA Awards dinner in London on Tuesday night May 15, having 24 hours earlier enjoyed celebrating City's triumph with an open-top bus parade around Manchester.
