The Nigerian minister of technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, drives a Made in Nigeria wooden car named “Amara”.
You may recall that NAIJ.com informed you that the Minister promised to drive cars only manufactured in Nigeria. This might be a step towards fulfilling the promise made to Nigerians.
Minister of technology Ogbonnaya Onu rides wooden body car made in Nigeria
Onu was seen driving the wooden car on Monday, April 3, in Abuja at the annual ‘Technology and Innovation Expo’ #Techno2017.

The man who invented the wooden-body car, Ahmed Aliyu, drove the car to the Expo arena with the Minister. Aliyu started the construction of the car a year ago.
Nigerian man invents wooden body car
Aliyu said he drove the car (Amara) from Niger state to Abuja using only 23 liters of fuel. He expressed that the car used a motorcycle engine.

All other materials used in making of the car were sourced locally except the wheel, engine and tyres.
