Bukola's release came after speculation that her father had transmitted a letter of withdrawal from the councillorship race to the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

NAIJ.com gathered that the young lady was abducted around 9pm on Tuesday, June 20, at Ilupeju after she went to buy food ingredients for her mother.

The victim reportedly went to buy somethings for her mother in the market but was left alone after her sister went to recover her change from a trader.

After her sister came out and could not find her, she went home only to find out that Bukola was not home yet.

According to reports, the kidnappers allegedly ordered the young lady to enter a Black Toyota Camry car.

Her father expressed that he got the tragic news after he received a call from his wife.

He said: “I was returning from a meeting when I received a phone call from my wife that our daughter had been abducted. I rushed home and saw a crowd in my house. They were assisting my wife in the search for our daughter. After we returned home about 1.39 a.m., I received a phone call from a strange person, telling me that my daughter was in their custody. The caller said that I would hear from them again and hung up.

“It was then I knew my daughter had been abducted. Since then, I have not heard from the kidnappers. I don’t know what my daughter is going through right now.

“My daughter was abducted four days to her birthday. She would have been 20. I hope this is not how my political opponents want to get back at me. They know they would lose in the forthcoming election.”
