The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in Nasarawa state has arrested a mother, Chika Okoye, her son, Samuel, and his friend, Dan Abah, for examination malpractice.

It was learnt that they were paraded in Lafia on Sunday, June 3, by the NSCDC commandant in the state, Mohammed Gidado-Fari.

The 35-year-old suspect who admitted her involvement in the crime said, “We couldn’t get admission for many years so I became frustrated; he was also frustrated and nobody is helping us.
“I have other children who have graduated but for the past four years or more now, he (Samuel) has failed to pass the exams, so I became frustrated.
“So, I asked his friend to help him to write the exams, I told him I will give him something but I know it is a very bad thing. Please, forgive me sir, I was so frustrated.”
The NSCDC Commandant, Mohammed Gidado-Fari, said Abah was caught writing the examination at the Command Secondary School, Lafia on contract.

Gidado-Fari also paraded a 32 year-old man, Obey Samuel who beat his biological mother into a coma without provocation.
He said: “Samuel was arrested on Monday for beating his biological mother to a state of coma without any provocation.”
Samuel denied beating his mother, saying, “I did not beat her but I know that when I come back from a night club at that time, I was drunk, I just locked her up in her room.”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Divine Nwamueze, an official of one of the centres used for the UTME in Lagos was arrested by the police for allegedly engaging in examination malpractice in the just concluded exam.
Nwamueze who worked at the UTME centre, Digital Bridge Institute in Oshodi was caught on camera assisting a candidate sitting the exam at the centre and handed over to the police.
A police source said the suspect reportedly confessed to helping the candidate because he was ill during the exam.
